The threads then go through a few processes: they are cleaned by washing to remove any dirt or impurities, made white and bright through bleaching and then dried for use. Then the long threads are chopped up into shorter bits, called “staples.” These staples can then be spun as yarn, which can be woven to the beautiful fabrics we find in stores.”
